But it’s important to ensure the EV-IQ is registered, not only to make it smart but also compliant with the Electric Vehicles (Smart Charge Points) Regulation 2021.
By law, to ensure compliance and traceability, all EV chargers must be registered by the electrical contractor at the point of install. This means the onus is on the supplier – if the charger is not set up correctly, then ultimately it is the developer who is not complying with the legislation.
In order to make EV-IQ compliant, it needs to be set up using the ‘Installer Miles’ app. Once this is done, using the Electric Miles app (which has been designed for the user) the software will be able to – among other things – schedule charges, monitor load balance and perform randomised delays.
Electric Miles (the company which owns Installer Miles) holds records of all the registered chargers. To ensure the charger is registered, contractors MUST connect it to the Installer Miles app.
